Until July 2009, Sheffield Health and Social Research Consortium existed
to sponsor, manage and facilitate good quality useful research in health and social care in Sheffield. At the meeting of the Consortium Board held on 29 July, the Research Consortium was officially wound up. All R&D business within Sheffield Health and Social Care (SHSC) NHS Foundation Trust is being carried out through the Trust's new Research Development Unit (RDU). The unit's web-site is under development and not yet available.

All research management and governance activity both for Sheffield Health and Social Care Trust and for NHS Sheffield is being dealt with by SHSC's RDU (0114 271 8804; Lynne.Shaw@shsc.nhs.uk). Any research queries relating to Sheffield Health and Social Care should be addressed to the RDU.
